More about Laura

I've spent many years in caring and therapeutic roles - I’ve been a nurse assistant, live-in carer, support worker and occupational therapist in the NHS, specialising in adult mental health.

Alongside my therapeutic work I've had a long career as a maker and artist, co-running a creative business for over 25 years with my partner. These two paths have given me first-hand experience and understanding of the stresses and strains of working in health and social care, and the anxieties and challenges of being a self-employed creative.

I discovered the Bach Flower Remedies when I was in London training to be an occupational therapist. Exam pressure, working on placements in lots of different hospitals with different teams, and giving presentations was particularly stressful for a shy, sensitive introvert. I was drawn to the remedies’ simplicity, gentleness, and the fact that they are natural and completely safe. And after discovering that they work, I returned to them whenever I needed, knowing that they were reliable.

It was during my career in mental health that I learned about highly sensitive people (HSPs) and sensory processing sensitivity (SPS). It was like looking in a mirror, the recognition was staggering and I felt enormous relief at finding an explanation for my struggles and what felt like inadequacies. The Bach flower remedies have helped me immensely to gain confidence, a sense of self worth, self belief and agency.

I continue to use the flower remedies for deep, emotional healing and especially to restore and maintain calm and emotional balance during challenging times.

These experiences sparked a deep desire to share this natural, holistic approach with others (they are too good to be kept to myself!) so I trained to be a practitioner with The Bach Centre, here in the UK.
