Uncomfortable Talking About Feelings?

The Bach flower remedies work by balancing negative emotional states with their positive potential. But what if you are uncomfortable talking about your feelings?
Most people are… to start with.
Here are some common concerns people have:
Worried about being judged
Worried about not being accepted
Not knowing how they feel
Not having words to describe their emotions
“I’m just not used to it.”
Firstly, it’s extremely common and you’re in very good company!
It can be hard to recognise our feelings, let alone put words to them. Very often they can be a complex, chaotic and confusing mix all muddled up together, like the image above. And it can be hard to admit that we have those feelings which we’d rather not have like rage, jealousy, resentment, bitterness, hatred etc.
Good news
Did you know that recent research in the USA into expressing our feelings has shown that simply by talking, or writing them out (and nothing else), can reduce G.P. visits, in some cases by up to 50%?
What are feelings for?
All our feelings are equal, valid, important, especially the ones we’d rather not have. Those undesired feelings are only negative when we try to stop feeling them or bottle them up. That’s when they start to impact our mental and physical health. The Bach flower remedies encourage our emotions to flow and change naturally so our health and wellbeing are restored and maintained.
Our feelings are actually our allies, they give us huge amounts of information about what isn’t good for us and what is. Essentially, they keep us safe. And they do so much more; they are a natural part of life and what makes us human and make our lives vibrant and full of interest. If we listen to them, they will guide us through life in a way which looks after us and gives us pleasure.
A consultation with me is more like a friendly chat. You don’t need to know what you are feeling or which words to use because we’ll discover that together, at a pace that is comfortable for you. A consultation is a safe, confidential space where you can be you, you will be made very welcome and accepted for who you are.
If you have any questions, please feel free to book a Clarity Call. It would be lovely to talk with you.
