FAQ: How do the Bach flower remedies work?

Here is how Dr. Bach himself explained how the flower remedies work, in a lecture he gave in Southport, UK in 1934.

"The action of these remedies is to raise our vibrations and open our channels for the reception of our Spiritual Self; to flood our natures with the particular virtue we need, and wash out from us the fault which is causing harm. They are able, like beautiful music or any glorious uplifting thing which gives us inspiration, to raise our very natures, and bring us nearer to our souls, and by that very act bring us peace and relieve our sufferings. They cure, not by attacking disease, but by flooding our bodies with the beautiful vibrations of our Higher Nature..."

I love how this doctor, trained in traditional, Western medicine, recognised

  • how the mind, soul and body are connected and influence each other

  • how he used a commonplace example of how music affects our emotions to give further explanation, (music, after all, is waves of energy at different frequencies)

  • that healing and peace of mind are attainable by increasing the positive aspects of our emotions and personalities which are already within us

What's your current go-to piece of music that lifts your spirits? Please let me know in the comments.
